Children and young persons counselling in school:
During our sessions children will be encouraged to talk through play... with games, toys and activities to help them feel relaxed. This helps us to build up trust in comfortable surroundings to make things feel easy and natural.
We will provide each child with a therapy box containing some of the tools we use in our session, to enable parents to support their child through the counselling process. There will be, worksheets to read through at home, ideas for coping strategies to use for times when they feel emotional or anxious, fidget toys which can help with anxiety and bubbles to practice some breathing techniques. These strategies are vital not only for the here and now, but they will continue to help them throughout their lives in managing difficult situations and to allow them to engage with friends and family again.
Online counselling:
Whilst counselling face-to-face is always preferable and online may not feel like the ideal solution for everyone, during the pandemic it has proven to be very successful. It has allowed us to reach children all over the country who were seeking help.
As you may already be aware, whilst GPs and NHS services can be invaluable they come with extremely long waiting lists; this is where we can help.
Children will receive their therapy box through the post, prior to starting their sessions. All we ask is that the child is in a quiet room where they wont be disturbed and bring their box to their sessions.
Adult counselling sessions:
Ideally counselling will take place face-to-face at your designated counsellors location. however where this is not possible online sessions can be arranged.
your sessions will start with an initial chat to discuss your needs and arrange a suitable time for your counselling to take place.
If counselling is taking place online, your documents will be emailed to you and should be completed and returned before your first session begins, along with your payment.
